Lime trees in Autumn on Hulcott village green

WHERE SHOULD NEW HOMES BE BUILT?

The District Council is holding a further and final public consultation this autumn about where new homes should be built around Aylesbury. It is not when but where.  The actual build could be a long way off but the decision as to where will be made early next year. This FINAL consultation takes place from 31st October - 12th December 2008. All three options considered are set out below, and have significant implications for Bierton, Broughton and Hulcott:

1.   The Southern Growth Arc which includes land between the A41 Aston Clinton Road Roundabout, Bedgrove, Stoke Mandeville and towards the A418 Stone (9,300 dwellings). This was the Council’s “Preferred Option” following the 2007 consultation.

2.   The Eastern Growth Arc which includes land between Watermead and Bierton (4,200 dwellings), and land to the north of the canal near Broughton Crossing (1,600 dwellings), and land to the north west of Weston Turville, between the Aston Clinton Road (A41 south) and the Wendover Road (A413 south) (3,500 dwellings).

3.   A combination of the Southern and Eastern Arcs.

Consultation documents will be available on the AVDC website www.ayleburyvaledc.gov.uk, at local exhibitions, at AVDC offices, at local libraries and on request from AVDC (01296 585858).

A Local Exhibition will be held on Thursday 13th November from 1pm to 7pm at the Jubilee Hall, Bierton.

Members of AVDC Planning Department will be present to discuss the plan. If you are unable to attend on 13th November, exhibitions are also being held elsewhere in the District. Full details from AVDC, any member of the Parish Council or the Clerk.

All Residents are urged to attend the exhibition and to comment to AVDC on the proposals

Please send a copy of your comments to the Clerk to Council, 2 Barnett Way, Bierton, HP22 5DN, or to parishclerk@biertonvillage.org.uk.
